Renewable Energy - Project Manager

The following is a basic summary of the core skills we seek in Renewable Energy/Project Manager candidates:

This role is responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the technical and financial elements of a project (including resources time and cost), either alone or through multi-discipline project teams, with line management responsibility for a team of engineers and technicians of varying experience and providing managerial and technical support.

Experience required:

Qualified to Degree level or above in Energy Engineering or related discipline.

Recognised professional qualifications including membership of Energy Institute and/or other appropriate/relevant professional bodies

Core Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors.
  • Demonstrable experience within the renewable energy sector to include all aspects of the project lifecycle from pre-feasibility through to commissioning and handover.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills across all media. Have experience in public meetings and stakeholder management with regards to renewable energy projects.
  • Be able to demonstrate a successful track record of project delivery in accordance with clients’ requirements.
  • Have significant experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration with regards to renewable energy projects ranging from multi-site installations to single site installations.
  • Able to demonstrate successful project management of large multi-disciplinary energy projects and formal training within the discipline of project management (including value and risk management).
  • Able to make decisions in a consistent and well thought out manner.
  • Familiarity with relevant software packages such as MS Project, Word, Excel, as well as proprietary modelling packages for the main renewable technologies.
